Supplemental Essay Editing

With our help, get more interviews by crafting strong supplemental essay responses

What are Supplemental Essay Questions?

Supplemental questions are extra questions asked by PA programs as a part of the application process.  They only apply to the school asking them.   Not all PA programs use them, but many do.  If you are applying to a school that uses them, you have some work to do above and beyond the regular CASPA application and essay.  Supplemental questions are usually essays that range from 100 to  2000 words and sometimes more, depending on the school.

Why do PA schools Ask Them?

The reasons  for them vary, but their purpose is usually to make sure that you are a good fit for their program.  Since CASPA makes applying to more schools as easy as checking a box (and paying more money), schools use supplementals to screen candidates further, reducing the chance that they will interview someone who isn't a good fit.

Supplementals Are Your Opportunity!

Supplementals are crucial because they help programs decide who they want to meet for an interview.   Most applicants "punt" on them, either answering them without much thought, rehashing their CASPA essay, or sending the same generic responses to every program. As a result, they aren't invited to interviews that they should be.  By contrast, if your supplemental responses are thoughtful, well worded, and show how well you fit a program, you're likely to be invited to more interviews, and more interviews means more chances for acceptance!
